Job Description
The Manager, Business Applications will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of Business Applications operations and personnel. The incumbent in this role will be accountable for helping to improve operational processes and supporting critical business strategies by managing the development, documentation implementation, maintenance and enforcement of the comprehensive business application strategy, standards, and processes.


  • Manages the administration, support and training of business applications;
  • Supports the Director, Business Applications in managing all budgetary and personnel functions for the business applications team;
  • Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring and guidance for ongoing training and education of business applications personnel to ensure they are equipped with the tools and resources needed to effectively and efficiently perform job responsibilities;
  • Develops and manages comprehensive rollout/release plans, including documentation, implementation and maintenance, for both new applications and upgrades to existing applications;
  • Builds and advances feasibility studies, business cases and process improvement proposals for executive and senior leadership;
  • Identifies emerging trends and best practices and makes recommendations for enhancements and upgrades to increase operational efficiencies that meet the business needs and goals of the organization;
  • Sets strategic direction for business applications and maintenance initiatives;
  • Creates detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build and implementation of business applications projects;
  • Manages all personnel aspects of the Business Applications team (hiring, performance evaluations, etc.);
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Familiarity managing enterprise-class business applications such as: Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Human resources information systems (HRIS) or Human resources management systems (HRMS); Information technology service management (ITSM) systems; Customer relationship management (CRM) systems; Content management systems (CMS); Integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and/or Enterprise document management (EDM) systems or Enterprise content management (ECM) systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;
  • Database administration including day to day maintenance, troubleshooting and development;
  • Able to approach challenges with a diagnostic style and the ability to find solutions to difficult IT and business problems in a timely manner;
  • Analytical approach and able to work effectively to solve problems;
  • A comprehensive knowledge of technology and emerging technologies;
  • Capable and organized team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement & innovation;

  • Self -motivated and enthusiastic;

  • High-proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access;

  • Fluent in English;

  • This position requires 5-10% local, regional and national travel time;

  • This position requires use of independent judgement.

Additional Job Description


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a comparable field with 3-5 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of college-level coursework and 5-7 years of related work experience required;
  • Experience implementing IT applications;
  • Project management experience preferable.
