Chen Senior Medical Center and Devoted Health Bring Hundreds of Greater Hollywood Seniors and Children Together for Free Back to School Supplies and Services

WHO: Hundreds of Medicare-eligible seniors with local grandchildren about to return to schools in Broward County + community leaders and volunteers including: Representative Marie Paule Woodson (FL-101); Broward County Commissioner Tim Ryan; Chen Senior Medical Center care team staff with leaders Yahaida Rimola-DeJesus, D.O., Center Medical Director-Hollywood and Matt Kaminske, Center Director-Hollywood; plus Devoted Health brokers and agents.

WHAT: Chen Senior Medical Center, which currently operates 18 primary care practices in underserved South Florida neighborhoods (2 more opening soon), is hosting a major back to school event to help hundreds of Broward County seniors caring for grandchildren.

Prices are soaring and social security checks are not keeping up with the worst inflation in 40 years. At this open to the public event, seniors – especially those on fixed incomes -- will pick up free school supplies, including backpacks, and be able to have each grandchild get a free haircut. The festive event also features a bounce house for the kids, as well as lunch provided for all. Plus, trusted Chen doctors will answer questions grandparents, parents and the media likely still have about heightened COVID-19 infections in South Florida; the importance of quick at-home testing whenever COVID-19 symptoms might present; and available COVID-19 treatments including Paxlovid and monoclonal antibodies.
