Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Mark Leenay is responsible for center operations, payor partnerships, revenue cycle, operational performance and network management.

Most recently, Dr. Leenay served as the Chief Operating Officer at JenCare within the ChenMed family of companies. He joined the ChenMed family after serving as Chief Executive Officer of InHealth Medical Alliance (IMA), a global risk Medicare Advantage-focused primary care organization throughout Florida.

Dr. Leenay’s previous roles as a healthcare executive include Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Wellcare (now part of Centene) and multiple national and international positions within UnitedHealth Group, including Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Optum International, OptumHealth and UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare and Retirement business.

Dr. Leenay became a physician executive after 16 years of clinical and clinical leadership roles in health systems and academia, including founding and managing palliative care and geriatric clinical programs and divisions.

Dr. Leenay is married with three children and is a doting grandfather to three young grandchildren. He enjoys weight training, travel, golf, fishing and being in the outdoors. He has been an active athlete most of his life, completing three marathons, and winning three championships in the “MN Border to Border” race, a running, biking and canoeing relay event that crosses the entire state of Minnesota. 

Dr. Leenay holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from LeMoyne College and a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University and is board certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics, and Hospice/Palliative Care (retired).
