“It’s like dying in solitary confinement,” says Dr. Chris Chen, CEO of ChenMed, about his experience in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as a COVID-19 patient. In this STAT News article, he shares what it was like to be stricken suddenly and then hospitalized with the dangerous virus.  As a critically ill patient, the experience gave him new perspective being on the receiving end of treatment rather than the provider. It also allowed him to reflect on his roles as a CEO, husband, father, brother and son.
